Pahl, Hangartner Appointed to Engineering Young Alumni Advisory Board

Engineering alumni Austin Hangartner and Eric Pahl have been appointed to the College of Engineering Young Alumni Advisory Board.

Hangartner, who graduated with a BSE degree in 2015 in chemical engineering, is production engineer at Cambrex, Charles City, IA. Cambrex is a life sciences company with pharmaceutical products, expertise and technologies to help accelerate small molecule therapeutics. He formerly was a chemical process engineer with Exide Technologies, Salina, KS.

Pahl, a graduate with a BSE degree in 2015 in biomedical engineering, is co-founder of HealthTech Solutions, Inc., Iowa City, IA, a mobile software company specializing in building productivity mobile apps for healthcare, specifically, the coordination of organ transplants.

The Young Alumni Advisory Board assists the college in achieving its strategic plan/vision by providing input and advice in the areas of perspectives, knowledge and experiences as a student and as a new engineer in the workplace; engaging young alumni in the life of the college; supporting the university's goal to engage more students and young (age 30 and younger) alumni as well as increase opportunities for young alumni participation; creating in young alumni a strong interest and commitment to the college and developing a network of mutually beneficial relationships among alumni, students and faculty; and developing a loyalty to the college so alumni will want to invest in the College with volunteer and financial support.
