BME Program Objectives

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of Iowa has the following specific educational program objectives:

• To produce graduates who have the ability to identify, formulate, and solve open-ended problems with medical relevance, including the design of devices, systems, and processes to improve human health,
  
  
• To produce graduates who are able to pursue a wide range of career options, including those in industry, academia, and medicine, and
  
  
• To produce graduates who are able to advance to leadership positions in their chosen field.
